Lebanon – Bomb attack in Tripoli – Communiqué issued by the Presidency of the Republic

President Sarkozy utterly condemns the heinous and despicable bomb attack which killed many Lebanese citizens, including a majority of soldiers, in Tripoli this morning.
President Sarkozy extends his condolences to the bereaved, the Lebanese authorities and people.
He reaffirms France’s unfailing support for Lebanon, for her authorities and institutions responsible for security, in their fight against terrorism.
As an important summit is getting under way in Damascus between Presidents Bashar al-Assad and Michel Suleiman, President Sarkozy reiterates his full support for the ongoing process and his determined commitment to peace and stability in the region./.
